- Don't delay. Some drivers see car charging stations as parking spaces for electric vehicle drivers. It's not, and whether you've used the charger today or not, you can't use it as such. Also note that charging is very slow when the battery is over 80%. Making other drivers wait if you are 100% sure that the car is charged, you are doomed. Are cars parked there all day long, is there 10% there, is this an emergency? Remove the plug from the socket and use the charger. Another exception is if the vehicle has a sticker stating that it is removable. Placing these stickers on your machine is a great way to keep your goodwill if you know you're likely to forget to unplug your machine immediately.
- Keep the charging station clean. Do not leave the charging cable on the ground. Instead, wind the cable around and put the plug back in place, even if you can't find it that way. Cables lying on the ground present a trip hazard, are hazardous to the user, and can be hazardous to the garage or building. Do not leave trash such as cans or snack bags around the charger. One reason for buying an electric car is that it's better for the environment.
- Help other EV drivers. It is a good idea to inform other drivers about charger locations, traffic jams, charging and parking costs - sites collect this information and share it with their users. Unfortunately, most often these sites publish complaints that drivers have violated the first rule! Be polite and plug your car into an outlet when it's charged.
- If your neighbour has a charger, be aware that you are part of the charger. Turning on radios, screaming or loud conversations near charging stations, especially after 9 pm, can disturb your neighbours. This will lead to confusion. This behavior may lead to complaints, and multiple complaints may result in the removal of the charger.
Driving an electric car and caring for the environment does not give anyone the right to be rude. Remember that etiquette is important for everyone, and the ability to play in a team will never become obsolete. By following these rules, you will become the owner of the electric car that others park next to you. Get ready, get ready, get ready!
