How to Find Charging Stations When Traveling

7 Mar 2023 7 mins to read
If you rely on your electronic gadgets and need a power source while on the go, you have to know how to find charging stations when traveling. This can be a daunting task, especially if you’re exploring in an unfamiliar area. Luckily, there are a few tips you can use to make your charging station search easier.
How to Find Charging Stations When Traveling
Summary:

1. Prepare Ahead of Time

Do your research before you leave home. Look up charging stations in your destination city, and ask your hotel if they provide power outlets to guests. If they don’t, they might point you to nearby charging stations. Additionally, use apps like PlugShare or Chargepoint to find the nearest charging station.

2. Bring a Portable Charger

A portable charger is a great way to ensure that you always have access to power when you’re out and about. You can simply plug the charger into your phone or laptop, and get the charge you need. This can be especially useful if you’re camping or have a long journey ahead of you.

3. Ask Around

When in doubt, just ask! The locals know best, so don’t be afraid to ask others for their advice. You can also check out local coffee shops, libraries, and other public places to see if they have charging stations. Just be sure to maintain safe social distancing when asking around.

4. Carry a Power Cord

As a backup plan, you should always keep a power cord in your bag. This will come in handy if there are no charging stations around. You can ask a kind stranger if they’re willing to plug in your device for you.

5. Follow Relevant Hashtags

Social media sites like Twitter and Instagram can be great sources of information. Follow relevant hashtags like #chargingstation, #charger, and #poweroutlet. You can also search for “charging stations near me” to find a list of nearby outlets.

6. Plan Your Route

If you’re taking a road trip, make sure to plan your route carefully. Look for charging stations along the way. This is a great way to ensure that you always have access to power when you need it.

7. Pack Extra Batteries

If all else fails, you can always pack extra batteries for your electronic devices. These can be purchased at most convenience stores and can provide you with enough power to get you to your next destination.

Conclusion: How to Find Charging Stations When Traveling

Finding charging stations when traveling can be a challenging task. However, with the right preparation, you can make sure you always have access to power. Use the tips above to make your search easier and more convenient.

It depends on the battery size and the station's charging speed. Some stations can give an 80% charge in half an hour
