Summary:

What Are Public Charging Stations?

Public charging stations are what they sound like – places for public use to charge electric vehicles. These stations can be found in many public places, such as parking garages, libraries, hospitals, shopping malls, and more. They offer drivers of electric vehicles the convenience of being able to charge their vehicles in a variety of public places.

Public charging stations vary in terms of the type of connection they offer and the charge speed they provide. Some charging stations feature DC fast charging, which can provide up to 250 kW of power and charge an electric vehicle in about 15 minutes, while others feature AC Level 2 charging, which can provide up to 3.6 kW of power and charge an electric vehicle in about 8 hours.

How Do Public Charging Stations Work?

Public charging stations are designed to be user-friendly and easy to use. To use a public charging station, drivers simply plug their vehicle’s charging cable into the station’s power outlet. Some stations require users to log in with a credit card or payment system, while others are free to use. Once the vehicle is plugged in and charging, the station will begin to deliver power to the battery. The charging process can take anywhere from 15 minutes to 8 hours, depending on the type of charging station used.

What should I do if I lose my phone at the charging station?
Not really. Your phone consumes almost the same amount of electricity irrespective of where you charge it.
